Winter Haven family of seven displaced after two-alarm fire

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — A Winter Haven family of seven has been displaced after a two-alarm fire tore through their home Thursday night.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., the Winter Haven Fire Department assisted by Polk County Fire, responded to a fully-involved house fire on Avenue H Southeast in Winter Haven.

When they arrived on scene, flames were visible from inside the home.

The fire grew rapidly and flames burned through the roof of the home. Nine trucks with thirty firefighters responded to put out the fire. The family, two adults and five children, were displaced and are now receiving assistance from the Red Cross. There were no injuries reported.

The Auburndale Fire Department was ready to help the Winter Haven Fire Department and the Winter Haven Police Department wants to give them a "huge shout out" for standing by to help.
