LAKELAND, Fla. -- The annual Sun 'n Fun event is postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic, officials announced on Friday.

Event organizers are looking to hold the event May 5 -10 and will decide by April 17 if the new dates will work depending on the coronavirus, according to the City of Lakeland.

The event was originally scheduled to take place March 31 through April 4 in Lakeland. The annual event brings in more than 200,000 visitors including people from more than 60 countries.
