LAKELAND, Fla, — The SPCA is now offering people the chance to rent a dog seven days a week in Florida.
The Rent-A-Dog program is available at SPCA Florida's Lakeland shelter, the only location in the state.

The free program allows you to take a dog on a 3- to 4-hour adventure and give a shelter pup a little field trip.
Officials recommend taking the dogs to a local park, out for a puppuccino or to a local canine cookie company.
