A 3-year-old who has autism was found early Tuesday morning after authorities say he wandered away from a home in Polk County.
The sheriff's office said the young boy was last seen around 1 a.m. in a house the boy's family was staying at near Acorn Court in Davenport while visiting from out of town.
Around 2:45 a.m., a family member noticed the front door of the home was wide open, and they were unable to find the child in the home, according to officials. The family then contacted the sheriff's office to report the boy missing.
Officials said the boy was found safe around 7:20 a.m. sleeping on a neighbor's porch less than half a mile from where the family was staying and was returned to his family.
ABC Action News is no longer sharing his name now that has been found safe.
