A Polk County Fire Rescue Captain was arrested Wednesday for possession of methamphetamines at his Lakeland home.
Undercover detectives arrested Captain Kevin Giliam, 48, after following up on a tip that drugs were possibly being sold out of his home.
When detectives arrived on-scene, they met with Giliam and conducted a search, during which they found a glass pipe containing meth in the master bathroom.
He told authorities he is a captain with Polk Fire Rescue.
He was charged with possession of methamphetamines (F3) and possession of paraphernalia (M1).
Giliam resigned effective Thursday morning.
He has since posted bond and been released.
