POLK COUNTY, Fla. -- Negotiations have finally ended for Polk County teachers after going back and forth with the district for nearly a year.
The Polk County Public Schools and the Polk Education Association have reached a tentative agreement on teacher contracts for the 2019-2020 school year.
According to the school district's announcement, there will be no increase in salaries for the 2019-2020 school year but to compensate, the district will not increase health care costs for employees or their spouses. Also, teachers will get more time for lesson planning during the week.
