LAKELAND, Fla. — Lakeland police are investigating a murder that happened Friday night.
Police responded to a shots fired report near the 400 block of Cornelia Ave.

When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound.
Officers immediately attempted lifesaving measures, however, the victim died at the scene.
Although detectives are in the very early stages of the investigation, they do not believe this was a random act.
