Brian Birky, 61, was arrested on March 7 after deputies received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Deputies found images of children between the ages 2 and 11 in sexually lewd poses and engaged in a sex acts.
Now, deputies say a search of his hard drive showed 300 more sexually explicit images depicting children between the ages 18-months to 11. Given the number of the total images, authorities say these additional charges will be second-degree felonies. The original charges were third-degree felonies.
"I couldn't even begin to describe the images that were found on this man's computer. It's both sickening and very sad," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. "The thorough work done by our detectives should ensure that he's going to be in prison for a long, long time."
Birky posted bond for his initial arrest and was arrested a second time on Thursday.
