LAKELAND, Fla. --Lakeland Electric announced an emergency fuel rate adjustment on Tuesday during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a press release, city commissioners voted to lower the electric fuel charge on Monday. For the months of May and June, the fuel charge will be reduced from $27.00 per 1000 kWh to $20.00 per 1000 kWh, the release says.
The regular rate is expected to resume in July.
The company says it's accelerating the under-recovery of the fuel reserve to provide customers with emergency relief.
