LAKELAND, Fla. — Authorities in Lakeland are investigating a shooting that killed one person and left another in critical condition at Lakeland Regional Health.
The Lakeland Police Department was called to the shooting at Artillery Motor Sports on Century Blvd around 11:30 p.m. Friday night.
There they found 32-year-old Steven Schelmety suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead just inside Artillery Sports, police say.
The other victim is currently listed in critical condition. His name is not being released because he is a witness to the murder.
Police have shared photos of a truck they say is a vehicle of interest.
