The 74-year-old showed no fear during the tense confrontation. The two men demanded that she get on the ground then stole her grandson's clothes and took some cash.
The Winter Haven Police Department says several people saw the two unknown suspects jumping fences and running through yards.
Police officers set up a perimeter around the neighborhood but eventually call off the search about five hours after the break-in.
They are now sharing surveillance video showing someone they believe may be connected to Tuesday's armed burglary.
Investigators are asking anyone with information on the identity of the male or anything about this case to call Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477).
