DAVENPORT, Fla. — The Polk County Sheriff's Office is searching for a driver who hit a 70-year-old bicyclist Friday morning in Davenport.
According to PCSO, Barry Berland, 70, was traveling eastbound in a wide bike lane on Ernie Caldwell Parkway near Highway 17 when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. This happened around 7:15 a.m.
The driver drove off, leaving Berland on the side of the road where he was found by another driver. He had to be airlifted to the hospital, according to his daughter.

Deputies do not have a vehicle description at this time.
