LAKELAND, Fla. — The City of Lakeland Parking Services Supervisor is facing charges after his arrest on Tuesday for video voyeurism.

According to an arrest affidavit, 40-year-old John Yancey used his work cellphone to record a victim under the age of 16 as they undressed to take a shower in a home.

The affidavit says the victim found Yancey's phone hidden among lotion and perfume on the counter of a bathroom sink. The victim looked at the phone and realized it was recording with the lens facing the shower and toilet, according to the affidavit.

Police say the victim recovered five to six videos in the phone's "recently deleted" folder that took place between September 13 and October 6. Yancey can be seen in several of the videos kneeling in front of the camera as he places it in the bathroom, according to the affidavit.

Records say at least two officers saw portions of the videos which showed the victim partly undressed and Yancey placing the phone.

Police say Yancey initially denied doing anything wrong. When Yancey was made aware of the recovered videos, the affidavit says he "exhibited signs and behavior common with a guilty person." The interview ended when Yancey said he wished to speak to a lawyer.

Yancey is currently on administrative leave until further action.
