BARTOW, Fla. — A Bartow man is facing an aggravated child abuse charge for burning his daughter's hand on a stove top as punishment for stealing, according to police.
Police say Felipe Casanova, 39, placed his 9-year-old daughter's hand over the stove to "teach her a lesson" for stealing from the family.

The school reported the alleged abuse after the girl showed up with the burn to her hand and a bruised left eye.
Casanova told police his daughter bruised her eye after she pulled away from the stove and tripped over a stool.
Casanova was arrested for aggravated child abuse.
