AUBURNDALE, Fla. — Amazon wants to build a new distribution center in Auburndale and bring 500 jobs with it, according to Governor Ron DeSantis.
The governor shared the news on Twitter on Wednesday morning and called it a "big win" for Polk County.

This comes as Amazon plans to build a new 225,000-square foot cargo handling facility in Lakeland — an estimated $100 million deal.

According to the City of Lakeland, the new air cargo operation could offer up to 1,000 jobs. Of those jobs, 75 would meet the minimum salary requirements for incentives. Amazon would qualify for state, city and county tax incentives which would total about $225,000 over a four year period.
