ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — City leaders announced on Thursday the St. Pete Pier will open May 30, and they're inviting the public to a grand opening.

The pier has been under construction since 2017. City Architect for St. Petersburg Raul Quintana previously compared the pier to Disneyland.

“It will be better than Disneyland, because it’s free,” says Quintana. “You don’t have to pay any money to come on here. Whether you have 50 cents or 50 dollars, there will be something for you to do.”
