ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Two small St. Pete businesses are coming together during COVID-19 to help make a difference.

St. Pete Rising and the EDGE Guide are partnering to raise money to feed healthcare workers and those on the front lines of this pandemic.

So far, they've raised more than $60,000. That money goes directly to local restaurants in the community and then straight to fire departments, hospitals and clinics.

Brian Zucker is delivering most of these meals himself.

He says his initial goal was to raise $5,000.

"What I underestimated and what I probably should never underestimate is the power of community and everybody's desire to stick together in a time like this," says Zucker.

Zucker says he partners with the local restaurants to help keep their business running and people employed.

"Right now we don't know what the world is going to look like in a few weeks or month or two. Some people have lost their job, and others are at risk of losing their jobs," says Zucker. "Yet people have still found a way to dig deep and support those that are keeping us healthy."
