CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Largo chiropractor is facing child abuse charges after an arrest report shows he abused two children multiple times within a Clearwater home.
Marc Rogers, 48, was arrested on January 4 for the abuse. The report shows that he threw one child into another, knocking them both to ground before one of the children was picked up by their mother.
Rogers continued to abuse the other child, the report shows. It states he entered the child's room, where she was crying about the previous abuse, and he began hitting her in the face and leg. He then left the room before returning again, according to the report.
Rogers grabbed the child by her leg, yanking her from a bed and to the floor before getting on top of her and covering her mouth and nose. The report states he then applied pressure to her throat with his forearm, choking her.
The child told deputies Rogers stayed that way "for a while" causing her to "see dots," according to the report. When he got off the child, the report states Rogers scratched her face and kicked her in the lower body area. The report states he told his ex wives he "covered her mouth" to stop her from screaming and waking up his neighbors.
Deputies wrote in the report that the child suffered abrasions and bruises consisted with her statements.
Rogers works at Coastal Chiropractic Rehab & Wellness, according to the clinic's website.
Rogers was arrested for felony child abuse. The relationship between Rogers and the children was not made clear within the report.
"Being a relatively new father, is amazes me every day the look on their faces when I come home," Rogers wrote in an undated post on the clinic's website. "There is no job more important than being a good dad!"
