ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Rays superutility man Brandon Lowe will be heading to Cleveland for the MLB All-Star Game.
Lowe, along with Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts and Minnesota Twins pitcher Jose Berrios, were named injury replacements for Angels' Tommy La Stella, Twins pitcher and former Tampa Bay Ray Jake Odorizzi and Texas Rangers' Hunter Pence in the American League Roster.

Lowe joins pitcher Charlie Morton and outfielder Austin Meadows as the three Rays representing Tampa Bay in the Midsummer Classic.
Still only in his rookie year, Lowe has blossomed into a fan favorite at Tropicana Field. Through 76 games, the 24-year-old has batted a .276 average and hit 16 home runs and 49 runs batted so far in the 2019 regular season.
