When finished, the North Gap project will connect the Duke Energy Trail in Clearwater to John Chestnut Sr. Park. It will be almost 7 miles long.

There are 3 segments to the North Pinellas trail gap:

  • Segment A starts at Enterprise Road and ends at Curlew Road
  • Segment B will pick up at Curlew and end just North of the Tampa Bypass Canal
  • Segment C will pick up there and finish at John Chestnut Sr. Park

ABC Action News first told you in January some Countryside residents were upset Segment A would put the trail in their backyard.

County officials say after the feedback they received, they modified a portion of Segment A to preserve and enhanced the community's "existing and natural characteristics." The proposal would shift the trail to Northside Drive and move it along Countryside Boulevard.

You can talk with officials Tuesday, October 29 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Countryside Golf and Country Club.
