PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — Classes may be over for the summer break and the future on how schools will reopen remains unclear during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite that, Pinellas County Public Schools is moving foward and hiring bus drivers.
The district is looking to hire 50 drivers and 110 school bus assistants for the 2020-2021 school year. These are full time positions with benefits.
"I came to Pinellas County Schools because I wanted to be able to further my career and I just like working with kids so it's definitely a great job, I love it. I enjoy coming to work every day," explains Lead Driver Dana Bartles.
You must have a CDL license to become a bus driver. However, the district will train you if you currently do not have one. The next class starts June 15.
