CLEARWATER, Fla. — Several people were seriously hurt after a car crashed into a duplex early Sunday morning.
According to police, four people were inside the car at the time of the crash. Two were taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and two were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa.
All suffered serious injuries. The family living inside the duplex was out of town at the time of the crash.
Police say the car was traveling north on Highland Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and it slammed into the residence.

According to the Clearwater Police Department, shortly after 4 a.m., a car crashed into a duplex on 16 North Highland Avenue.

Four people were inside the car, according to police. Some of them had to extricated by firefighters.
The victims were transported to local hospitals as trauma alerts by ground instead of being airlifted due to weather.
