A Dunedin man has been arrested for leaving a child in a car while he was shopping at a Pinellas County Walmart on Sunday night.
Clearwater police say Jacob Wilder, 31, was intoxicated Sunday night when he drove to Walmart on US Hwy 19. He has been charged with child neglect after he reportedly left a four-year-old in the car, alone, while he went into the store.
According to the Pinellas County arrest report, Wilder was inside the Walmart, shopping for 33 minutes. Investigators confirmed that time by checking the store's surveillance cameras.
Someone in the parking lot alerted Clearwater paramedics who later tracked Wilder down inside of the store.
The report says Wilder was "obviously intoxicated" and refused to give officer's a breath sample.
Wilder posted a $5,000 bond and was released from jail.
ABC Action News uncovered that Wilder was convicted of DUI in Texas last year.
