CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Holiday man was arrested on Tuesday after police say he tried to meet a 15-year-old girl he found on Craigslist for sex.
According to the Largo Police Department, Thomas Petrick, 56, engaged in sexually explicit emails with what he believed was a 15-year-old girl on Craigslist. Police say that Petrick knew the 'child' was allegedly 15 and still chose to meet the 'minor' for sex.
He sent two pictures of his genitals to the 'child' while continually engaging in sexually explicit conversation, according to police.
Petrick was taken into custody on Tuesday when he traveled to meet the 'minor' for sex. Arrest reports state that he brought condoms and lubrication with him.
He allegedly admitted to sending the sexually explicit messages and photographs following his arrest.
Petrick has been arrested and charged with two counts of transmission of harmful material to minors, two counts of seduction of a child using internet or electronic device, one count of unlawful use of 2 way communications device and one count of traveling to meet a minor.
