DUNEDIN, Fla. — Penny Harris was a young girl, around eight or nine, when cooking became her love language.
“My mom was a working mom, so it was up to me to make dinner,” says the Dunedin chef. “How I represent my love for people is through food.”
Writing and cooking under her literary pseudonym Mary Lorine Buckman, the kitchen pro is releasing a new cookbook this week, “The Dressing Table."
The recipes are for easy-to-make shareable comfort foods that allow plenty of room for freedom and creativity.
“If you really cook with your heart, it’s such a gift,” she says. “It’s something I can give people. And it makes me happy.”
Penny was a longtime talent at award-winning Dunedin restaurant Bon Appetit.
