ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A new hi-tech mural wants to make voting fun and inclusive with an Instagram-friendly design and interactive art.
Commissioned by the League of Women Voters of St. Pete, the vibrant and playful "Diversity in Democracy" mural is located at 556 Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg.
"It's fun, it's beautiful, it's easy to access, and it can help you empower your vote," says the League's Julia Sharp.
Popular local artists John Gascot and James Hartzell created the public artwork, with a loving focus on the LGBTQ community.
The design also includes an oversize "I VOTE" comic panel perfect for snapshots and social-media glory.
While you have your phones out, embedded in the paint is amazingly cool technology allows you to use the free Pixelstix phone app to access voting resources, mail-in ballot forms and more.

All you need to do is just scan the "VOTED" stickers.
The work is intended to be nonpartisan and inclusive for all parties.
"No matter what side you're on, participate," says Gascot.
