ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — "Groceries on the Go" is on the road and ready to lower your grocery bill.
The traveling store offers healthy foods and produce at discounted prices, usually around 30% off what you might pay for in a grocery store.
Groceries on the Go is the brainchild of Feeding Tampa Bay, which aims to serve "food deserts" in Tampa Bay area neighborhoods where there is little to no convenient access to grocery stores selling fresh fruits and vegetables.
"The point here is that we can bring really good food, including fresh produce, to communities where the only access you might have is the corner store," says Feeding Tampa Bay's Matt Spence.
During the pandemic, customers will have their own personal shoppers at Groceries on the Go's refrigerated truck.
You can pay with cash, credit or with a SNAP card.
