PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — An emergency food distribution was set up on Thursday, December 17 in response to storm damage the day before.
Feeding Tampa Bay set up three emergency food distributions, two in Pinellas County and one in Polk County.
Volunteers handed out boxes of produce, snacks, meals, and water to hundreds of families, no questions asked.
They say between the pandemic and now this storm, families have been hit hard this year and their mission is to make sure everyone has enough food.
"There were several families who came through who lost power and had some wind damage. And if you lose power for too long you lose everything in your fridge and freezer, that’s why we wanted to make sure folks have the food who need it" said Matt Spence with Feeding Tampa Bay.
Feeding Tampa Bay says their goal is to make sure no one ever goes hungry. To find a food distribution site near you click here.
