Ride Oldsmar BMX, an official ABA USA BMX training site known on a national level, is closed indefinitely after a routine inspection revealed safety issues.

Areas of concern were discovered that the organization says require further professional evaluations.

Because of this, the track was temporarily closed in mid-April.

Another update was posted last week on the track's social media pages.

They said that at this point, City of Oldsmar staff is in the process of procuring a professional evaluation of the structure, but do not know how long that process will take.

In August of 2018, the City of Oldsmar became the official Track Operator for the Oldsmar BMX Track and facility.

Since then, Oldsmar has found an engineering service to evaluate the mechanically stabilized walls at the track.

The engineering analyses and report will be completed within 105 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. The professional services included in the scope of work shall be provided on a time and materials basis with a Not-to-Exceed budget of $99,681.

The city council will vote on the work order at a meeting on Tuesday.
