CLEARWATER, Fla. — Detectives in Pinellas County are asking for help identifying three people who broke into a gun store and stole dozens of firearms.
The sheriff's office says the suspects broke into Arms for Defense just before 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday. They stole 27 firearms, according to detectives.
The suspects first parked in front of the store and looked in through the windows around 5:50 a.m., the sheriff's office says.
They left the scene and drove southbound on U.S. 19. They were seen driving a dark colored Toyota Camry with possible tag containing the numbers "699" and a black 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pick up with a Georgia temporary tag number "P0219923."
A person who lives near the store called the sheriff's office shortly after hearing and seeing suspicious activity. Deputies circulated the area and found the Silverado left at a business a few miles away on Boy Scout Road.
Authorities say the truck was reported stolen out of Polk County earlier the same morning.
The suspects can be seen on surveillance video all wearing dark colored long sleeve hoodies, long pants and gloves. One suspect had "Nike" on the front of his hooded shirt.
