ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A Pinellas County couple is hoping to make some good use of their RV.

Mary and Gary Simmons were sitting on the couch one day when they looked outside and saw their RV just sitting there. That's when they thought, why not do some good?

The couple came up with a plan to park their RV in front of Ferg's Sports Bar in St. Petersburg and ask people to help donate items to the Kind Mouse and Pet Pal Animal Shelter.

"This time of year people need to step up and help out these organizations like Kind mouse and Pet Pal Animal Shelter," explains Gary Sirmons.

The RV will be setup in front of Ferg's on Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Donations will be accepted through drive-thru. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Donors will receive a coupon for $5 off a $25 purchase at Ferg's. They will also be entered into a drawing to win a Tampa Bay Rays Prize pack.
