PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A north Florida sexual predator has been charged with two counts of capital sexual battery for molesting Pinellas County children, deputies say.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant that was served on Thursday to Levern Brown, 75, of Middleburg, at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Department of Corrections. Brown is currently in custody on a separate charge of lewd/lascivious molestation with a victim under 12.
Detectives began their investigation on July 6, 2018, after the victims admitted Brown had engaged in inappropriate activity with them. The female victims were between the ages of five and 8-years-old at the time of the incidents.
According to detectives, Brown engaged in inappropriate sexual activity with the victims at a private residence located in Largo. The inappropriate activity occurred between December 2017 and February 2018.
No additional information has been released in order to protect the victim's identities.
Detectives say Brown has been a registered sexual predator since 2005 when he was found guilty of two counts of sexual battery with a victim under 12.
Brown he will later be transferred to the Pinellas County Jail for his charges.
