CLEARWATER, Fla. — A construction worker was killed after being struck by a backhoe Tuesday morning.
The Clearwater Police Department said the fatal construction accident happened in the 1800 block of Virginia Avenue.

Officers said the construction worker was working on the site of a new town home development when he was struck.
The worker was identified as Paul Russo, 37, of New Port Richey.
The investigation is ongoing.
