ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- An eighth grader in St. Petersburg is accused of threatening to "shoot up the school" Friday.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, an Azalea Middle School student made a threatening statement to other students that he was planning to dress up as a school shooter and then shoot up the school.
Someone shared the suspect student's comments on social media and the school's resource officer launched an investigation.
The 13-year-old boy is charged with making a false report of a bomb/firearm to conduct bodily harm, St. Pete police say.
