PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — Largo Police say a 72-year-old man stalked a 12-year-old girl for weeks, waiting at her bus stop daily. According to detectives, the man didn't know the 12-year-old girl but admitted to police that he was attracted to her.

For over a month, Abdulla Ndregjoni repeatedly followed the victim in the afternoons from her bus stop to her home, according to documents. Ndregjoni grabbed the girl by the arm, fondled her breasts over her clothes and attempted to kiss her on February 21, the documents say.

The 12-year-old eventually used her cell phone to take video of the man, which she provided to police.

The next day, a law enforcement surveillance group observed Ndregjoni following the victim from her bus again. The documents say he admitted to following, grabbing, fondling and attempting to kiss the young girl. He told officials he was attracted to her because of her skin tone, according to the documents.

Ndregjoni lives about 10 blocks away in Bellaire but police say he walked to the bus stop at 15th Avenue NW and Clearwater-Largo Road North daily. Ndegjoni was arrested Friday on charges for aggravated stalking of a child under 16, as well as lewd and lascivious molestation.

On Monday, the Largo Police Department released video of the "brave child" following the man who had been stalking her. They are asking parents to urge their children to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious persons to a responsible adult immediately. Police officers are asking anyone whose child may have had contact with Ndregjoni to contact detectives at 727-587-6730.

Ndregjoni is being held on $40,000 bail at the Pinellas County jail.
