PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. --- A Walmart employee was killed after a shooting outside of a Walmart in Pinellas Park.
Pinellas Park police said the incident happened at around 11 a.m. at the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 6900 US Highway 19.
Officials said they responded to a person shot at the location. When they arrived, they found a victim, later identified as 21-year-old Terrell Williams, on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Williams was transported to Bayfront Hospital where was later pronounced dead.
Police said Williams was on his break and was standing or sitting behind the store. They said there were at least two shooters that pulled up in a white car described as a Honda Accord or similar, then left the scene.
Witnesses say the shooters drove up, got out, fired multiple shots and drove off. The victim was identified as a black male in his 20s.
While he was an employee, police say they do not believe the shooting has anything to do with the store.
At this time, police said they are working this investigation that his was a "deliberate and targeted attack on the victim."
Williams has a twin brother who was also shot earlier in the year. His twin brother survived the shooting.
