A witness who observed a wrong-way driver in Pasco County called authorities to report the driver and troopers successfully located and arrested the driver for DUI.
FDOT to receive more funding to warn motorists of wrong-way drivers in Tampa Bay Area
On Tuesday night at approximately 9:23 p.m. FHP received a call from a witness who reported a wrong-way driver traveling eastbound on Blanton Road in Dade City.
FHP troopers responded to intercept the suspect vehicle and successfully stopped the driver at US 98 Bypass and Church Avenue.
Desmond A. Higgins, 34, of Brooksville, was arrested for DUI and Felony VOP. Higgins was taken to the Pasco County Jail where he provided a breath sample of .206.
