PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — Cell phone video shows the moment Meadow Pointe II’s Community Development District meeting went from contentious to violent.
Retiree Richard James was at the CDD meeting.
“They are very boring usually. Last night was an exception,” he said.
James said the argument was about keeping community gates open at certain times.
Many people who live behind those gates say they never got a say before the board voted. So Wednesday night they showed up angry.
Richard says board members weren’t respectful so he walked out.
“I don’t like being called a moron,” he said.
Then things really got out of control. The video shows CDD Chairman Micheal Cline confronting residents.
Investigators say someone accused the board of “acting like Nazi’s” and that’s what caused Cline to lose his cool. You can see Cline lunge at a man in the video.
Caught in between them was an 80-year-old woman. She gets pushed, but not knocked over.
“He definitely won’t get a single vote out of any of the gated communities in Meadow Pointe II,” said James.
No one was hurt and Cline actually went back to his seat to finish the meeting.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office came, but it will be up to the State Attorney as to whether or not to press any charges.
