Pasco County construction worker airlifted as trauma alert after saw hits him in face, chest

SAN ANTONIO, Fla. — A construction worker was flown to the hospital as a trauma alert after he was seriously injured by a saw on Thursday afternoon, according to Pasco County Fire Rescue.

Fire officials said the man was cutting concrete with a concrete saw, when it kicked back and hit him in the face, jaw and chest. It happened in the 8300 block of Old Pasco Road.

Ripa & Associates was the company operating on that property.

"There was an accident and we’re hoping our guy is OK," an assistant safety director on scene told ABC Action News.

As of Thursday evening, it was unclear whether or not the man would survive his injuries.

Fire officials were not releasing any information regarding his identity.
