It happened on Friday, Oct. 11 at about 3:30 p.m. on Seven Springs Blvd. in New Port Richey.

Detectives say Brian Ferdinand, 40, pulled in front of the victim's vehicle, blocking his path. He is accused of getting out, walking to the victim's car, opening his door and striking him in the face multiple times while the victim was still seated in the car.

Deputies say the victim ultimately fell from his vehicle to the ground where Ferdinand continued to punch him in the face.

The strikes resulted in several small lacerations to the back of the victim's head, a swollen left eye, and a broken bone in his left orbital socket that required surgery to reset.

Two independent witnesses said Ferdinand was the aggressor and the victim was able to positively ID him in a photo pack lineup.
