TRINITY, Fla. — A Pasco County attorney is doing her part to feed healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kelly Cook is the managing attorney at Kemp, Ruge and Green in Trinity. She immediately saw the need to feed those at Tampa Bay area hospitals.

Her sister, a nurse at a local hospital, called in an order at a pizza place just to have it turned down.

So, Kelly stepped up.

"I want to start a trend #FeedtheER and feed the nurses, feed the ER, and I'm going to see if it picks up," explains Cook. "I don't care if I have to buy and personally fund each one of these lunches until someone realizes they should get involved, too."

She called a local pizza place, ran by Andrea French, to see if they could help.

And they did.

Kelly has a friend at a hospital in Tampa. French stepped up to help there, too.

So #FeedtheER is catching on.

Her colleagues at Kemp, Ruge and Green are also stepping up and having meals delivered to other hospitals.

They delivered meals to various hospitals in 3 different counties in just 72 hours. Then the trend caught on in Georgia.

If you would like to participate, Kelly has one other request.

"It's great because a lot of our friends own businesses and restaurants and they're so scared that they're not going to have any customers and so what we're asking is to buy from local restaurants," says Cook,

Kelly has also started a SignupGenius for anyone who is interested in participating. Just click here and use the #FeedtheER on social media.
