NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. -- The Coalition for the Homeless of Pasco County says the amount of homeless people coming through their doors for help has quadrupled and they can’t keep up with the demand.

The coalition says last year they were helping 12 people a day. Now they have nearly 50 people a day coming through their doors.

The homeless are able to shower, get a change of clothes, water, a meal and more.

They say donations are coming in, but they’re going very fast!

Kristine Amalfitano, who has been homeless for three years, says people who bring donations to coalition make a big difference in her life.

"Somebody like me, you guys just made our world. I got a shower this morning and a clean set of decent clothes, and I feel good. I feel a lot better than when I got here," said Amalfitano.

They’re in need of men’s clothing, men’s shorts sizes 28-40; t-shirts of all sizes, medium and large men’s briefs, and tennis shoes size 9 and up, sunglasses, sunscreen, dog food, monetary donations and much more. For more information on how to help, click here.

Donations can be brought to the coalition office at 5652 Pine Street in New Port Richey anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
