WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. -- Firefighters at Pasco County Fire Rescue 13 received an unusual call for an "animal rescue" Sunday night. A driver at the Cobb CinéBistro theater on Wesley Grove Boulevard said a kitten was in her car's engine compartment.

When firefighters arrived on scene the driver told them the animal possible rode in the engine from Tampa to Wesley Chapel.

After firefighters rescued the kitten, Captain Diaz called to get animal control to respond to the scene. The driver said it was getting late and she had to get her children home because it was a school night.

Diaz decided to take the kitten back to the fire station and find her a home.

Firefighters gave the fuzzy feline food and water while the Captain went on Facebook to find someone willing to adopt her. Within an hour, a family of four agreed to take the kitten home.

The family soon arrived at the fire station to adopt the kitten. They gave her the name "Mia."
