PORT RICHEY, Fla. — The Pasco County Sheriff's Office recovered over 21,000 pills when they arrested a man who they say was behind a pharmacy heist on March 23.
Authorities say 37-year-old William Hennessey Jr. broke into the SunTrust Pharmacy in Port Richey and stole a safe. Inside was between $16,000 and $18,000 in cash, Oxymorphone, Oxycodone, Morphine, Methadone and Fentanyl patches.
Authorities recovered over 21,000 pills while searching Hennessey's home and vehicle.
After his arrest, the sheriff's office says he admitted to the burglary. He also told authorities he bought a new motorcycle for $4,400 using money stolen from the pharmacy. The motorcycle was seized, the sheriff's office says.
Hennessey faces charges for business burglary, theft of controlled substance, grand theft and possession of burglary tools. Authorities say several drug trafficking charges are pending.
