The district said the rumor was completely unfounded but the school is still stepping up security out of an abundance of caution. Students will notice more sheriff’s deputies stationed around the school.

Also in Pasco County, there was a school threat at Cypress Creek Middle School.

Police arrested a 12-year-old student and he’s now facing felony charges.

The student is accused of emailing six teachers, threatening to kill them. An arrest report shows the student threatened to shoot up the school.

In Pinellas County, police arrested and charged a 12-year-old Tarpon Springs Middle School student.

Detectives said he told other students he wanted to shoot five of his classmates and planned to use an AR 15 Rifle to shoot them at different areas on campus.

When investigators asked him about it, the student said it was just a joke.
