Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson resumed operations on Tuesday morning after a lightning strike caused an outage at the hospital and forced patients to transfer hospitals.
ABC Action News crews were on the scene last Thursday when that fire forced all 224 patients at RMC Bayonet Point to be moved to other locations in Pasco and Hernando Counties.
A hospital spokesperson tells ABC Action News that those patients will begin to be transported back to the hospital throughout the day Tuesday. The fire started in a room that contained the backup generator, and when power to the hospital was lost that generator was unable to work properly, the spokesperson said.
We will reopen our ER and hospital services as of 7am Tuesday morning. Thanks for your patience and support!
