NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating a fatal hit-and-run in Holiday.
According to FHP, a 59-year-old woman was walking southbound across Florida Avenue, east of Brightwell Drive when she walked into the path of an unknown vehicle. The vehicle struck the pedestrian, before driving away from the scene, troopers say. The crash happened around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The pedestrian was transported to the hospital where she died from her injuries. Her identity has not been released pending family notification.
FHP is asking anyone who may have information regarding this incident to contact troopers at 813-558-1800.
