HUDSON, Fla. — Three Pasco County students suffered minor injuries after their school bus was involved in a head-on crash Wednesday morning.

Students from Hudson Middle School and Hudson High School were on a school bus just after 7 a.m. when a small car crashed head-on with it on Kitten Trail at Oakwood Lane, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Pasco Fire Rescue said the driver of the small car, who has not been identified, had to be extricated and transported to a local hospital as a trauma alert.

That driver reportedly drifted into the lane where the bus was traveling, resulting in the crash.

The bus driver and three students received minor injuries. The bus driver was transported, but the students, aged 14-18, refused and were released to their parents.

Kitten Trail was shut down in both directions while the crash was cleared.

The road was closed until 8:31 a.m.
