PORT RICHEY, Fla. — A man was shot and killed in Port Richey late Saturday night after he threatened his neighbor, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say 34-year-old Joshua Ellis was arguing with a woman at his home on County Lake Drive around 11 p.m. when his neighbor came out to see what the commotion was.

Ellis approached the man on his property and threatened to kill him, according to the sheriff's office. The neighbor was on the phone with 911 and shot Ellis one time in the chest with a 9mm handgun. He then applied pressure to the wound to stop the bleeding, the sheriff's office says.

Ellis was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Deputies say no arrests have been made while the shooting remains under investigation.
