WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — Elizabeth Fennig has a saying, really more a way of life. “Be a blessing.”

The 9-year-old Wesley Chapel girl put this slogan on homemade T-shirts and sold them.

She then donated the money raised, almost $2,000, to A Door of Hope, a Christian-based foster care organization in Tampa Bay.

“I care about these kids,” Elizabeth says. “I feel bad for them. But I’m also happy that we take them in.”

That’s right, Elizabeth’s family recently grew by three foster kids.

There are now six Fennig children, with Elizabeth as the ringleader. She loves all foster kids, especially those she now calls brothers and sisters.

“She has a big heart,” says mom Abby. “My prayer for Elizabeth is that she continues her generosity as an adult.”
